Beaulieu Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 'georges De Latour' Private Reserve 2001

Wine Advocate: Fallowing their glorious vintages in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, beaulieu did not make an outstanding private reserve until the 2007. While the 2001 is undoubtedly a very good wine, it is more austere than recent vintages displaying a healthy dark ruby/plum color as well as an evolved nose of cedarwood, roasted herbs, sweet oak, kirsch and black currant fruit. Medium-bodied, well made and close to full maturity. 87 points
