Vintry Fine Wines is happy to welcome Kristie Petrullo as our Director of Education. Kristie is bringing years of experience and deep seeded love of wine to inquiring minds of New York City. Ms. Petrullo is the Founder of Petrullo Wine Consulting and before this held the position of Chef Sommelier at Jean-Georges Restaurant in New York City. During this time, she was the only female to hold this title at a Michelin three-star rated restaurant in the United States, France, Italy, and Germany. She was also the Beverage Director at Tom Colicchio’s flagship restaurant Craft (NYC); Sommelier at Daniel Restaurantand and Eleven Madison Park; and Wine Director at Market Restaurant (Napa Valley, CA).
In 2010 Ms. Petrulloappeared in the New York Post article “Wine and Dandy” as one of New York’s Top, Hot, Young Sommeliers. She has also received various other press mentions and awards including:
- Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Wine Lists in 2004
- Member of the New York Times tasting panel
- Featured as one of New York’s Best Sommeliers at French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF)
As well as distinguished restaurants, Petrullo’s experience includes working with wineries including the 2002 harvest at Copain Custom Crush and producers such as Pisoni Vineyards & Winery (2003-2006 harvest), Miura, DuMol Wines, Carlisle Winery & Vineyards, and Detert Family Vineyards. She was also involved in the 2009 harvest with Lucie etAugusteLignier in Morey-Saint-Denis, Burgundy, France.
