Neiman 'caldwell Vineyard' 1997

From the winery: drew neiman established the cellars in 1997 to make a red bordeaux blend and a syrah from the highest quality fruit sources. The fruit comes from the caldwell vineyard in the southeast part of napa valley. The caldwell family established the vineyard in 1980 on steeply terraced slopes of bare volcanic soil. The grapes for neiman cellars come from blocks 12, 14, and 18-- some of john caldwell's finest vineyard sites. The wines are unfined and unfiltered, fermented only with wild yeasts: they are a paradigm of low intervention winemaking.
