Jean-Claude Lapalu Brouilly Vieilles Vignes 2011

Robert Parker: Lightly-toasted pecan, smoky black tea, and cinnamon tinge the generous black raspberry and blueberry of Lapalu’s 2011 Brouilly Vieilles Vignes, which was vinified in tank; with whole berries; and in “semi-carbonique” fashion not radically different from that employed with his Beaujolais-Villages, yet here resulting in a sense of buoyancy– even at slightly higher alcohol – as well as of transparency to stony underpinnings that set it apart. This finishes with soothing, luscious, yet with a vivacious persistence. 90 pts
