Review MARGUET PERE & FILS BRUT 'LES CRAYERES' GRAND CRU CHAMPAGNE 2009
MARGUET PERE & FILS BRUT 'LES CRAYERES' GRAND CRU CHAMPAGNE 2009
ChampagneGuide.net: "This is the second release of Marguet’s single-vineyard Les Crayères, and it’s as equally impressive as his stunning debut vintage was. It combines the plush, sunny character of the vintage with an intense and deep-seated expression of chalk, expanding on the palate with a multi-dimensional complexity. While it’s slightly different in composition than its predecessor, composed of roughly 62 percent chardonnay and 38 percent pinot noir (the 2008 was 70 percent chardonnay and 30 percent pinot noir), this is practically irrelevant, as this wine is more about a reflection of place than anything else. It’s an outstanding champagne and a true vin de terroir, and together with the 2008, it immediately establishes Marguet’s Les Crayères as one of the essential wines of the southern Montagne de Reims."
Variety: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
Region: Montagne de Reims : Ambonnay
