90+ Points - Stephan Reinhardt - The Wine Advocate - “The 2013 Touraine Clos de Maulevrier Ante Phylloxera is sourced in an old clos in Larné (a village close to Chinon) with ungrafted vines (Franc de Pied). The wine opens with a beautifully deep and intense bouquet of ripe dark cherries, berries, raw meat and some crystalline flavors. Full-bodied, round, vital and finessed on the palate, this is a charmingly fruity and almost soft red wine with a highly elegant and seductive fruit, fine tannins and a super natural expression. The finish is aromatic, vital and stimulating. This is gorgeous wine with meat but even certain fish dishes.”
Variety: Cabernet Franc
Region: Touraine
Vintage: 2013
