Review OSTERTAG RIESLING 'HEISSENBERG' 2011
OSTERTAG RIESLING 'HEISSENBERG' 2011
90 Points - Ian D'Agata - Vinous Media: "Medium-dark yellow. Pineapple, lime and jasmine on the minerally nose. Very dry and citrussy in the mouth, but delivers noteworthy volume and flesh. The brisk finish of this very promising riesling offers mineral and herbal nuances. This lieu-dit in Nothalten is all gres rose (red sandstone) and granite, and the resulting wines have bright floral and mineral personalities. Nothalten is the place in Alsace were the Vosges mountains go from mainly sandstone to granite, so the wines tend to go from softer to more taut and compact."
